Asian Turkey "Chopped Steak"

Cooking a healthy meal for two has never been easier and more flavorful! Skip the bun. Serve with G|Cooks Garden Brown rice and a dry white wine.
Serves 2

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • ¼ cup finely chopped Red bell pepper
  • ¼ cup finely chopped Crimini mushroom
  • 2 T. chopped green onion
  • 2 T. low sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 T. light brown sugar
  • ½ t. crushed red pepper
  • 2 t. Canola oil

Directions
Gently mix all ingredients in a bowl and form into two oblong patties, being careful not to overwork. Make a thumbprint in the center of each patty (this will prevent the patty from “balling up” like a football in the middle). Place on a plate lined with waxed paper and chill, covered with more waxed paper, for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Drizzle canola oil over turkey patties.  Cook in a preheated nonstick skillet over medium heat for 6 minutes undisturbed. Turn patties over. Reduce heat to medium-low and cover. Cook for six more minutes until cooked through.
